WTO: Africa sounds the reveille!

Mali, Benin, Chad, and Burkina Faso are shaking up the World Trade Organisation and targeting the champions of liberalism on one of their favourite grounds : globalisation.
The four African countries are demanding that the subsidies given to European and American cotton producers be stopped.
Today, this is a matter of life and death for 10 million people in western and central Africa who are being hit hard by the fall in cotton prices.
Our documentary ‘The Cotton War’ tells the story of how these little countries have woken up and are facing up to the big guys.
